Why Black Spruce?

Why Black Spruce? This adaptable little evergreen thrives in Canada from coast to coast, even in poor boggy soils near my home in northern BC. Like a breath of sharp northern air in the forest, black spruce is powerfully grounding and calming. It is considered sacred in First Nations medicine; both nourishing stimulating to the nervous system, and is ideal especially for those feeling depleted--just like Japanese acupuncture. Black spruce portrays a symbol of symbiotic relationships, understanding one's own healing path, exploring lofty ideas, connecting with the Earth, and finding one's unique way of reaching Spirit.
